Z palette Craze!

Hello my lovelies, hope you are all well. I know it's been two whole weeks since I last blogged, forgive me but it's been busy at work. Being a full time Infant School Teacher doesn't always give me too much spare time to spend on my other love: Makeup! So today I'm just going to tell you about my new latest obsession...  z palettes! To be more precise the extra large z palette.

This magnetic palette allows you to place any size eyeshadow/blusher/highter pan into it and can be used for a huge matter or reasons:

1. For Makeup Artists for ease with travelling with products to clients.

2. To save storage space. 

3. To store a range of products, perfect for travelling.  

4. To organise your eyeshadows by colour. 

5. To store a range of brands (regardless of the size of pan).

I wanted a solution to save space and to ensure I was getting the most out of my eyeshadows. I knew my eyeshadow palette collection was getting slightly out of control and wanted a way to feel less guilty of owning soo much!! Having them all in the same place, organised by colour would ensure I used a larger range of the products I already own (and perhaps prevent me from buying more!!) 

Extra large z palette:

This palette holds 35 standard 26mm pans (Mac standard size). The palettes do come with 20 metallic stickers which can be applied to pans which are not made from the correct metal. They come in two size: large circular and small rectangular. The smaller ones are perfect for Sleek/ Makeup Revolution and MUA Cosmetic eyeshadows.

Ebay: 

I first purchased two black extra large palettes from Ebay (I won't say the seller but there aren't many that sell this) for the price of £24.99 each. Unfortunately one of the pallettes arrived with enormous crack through the plastic front. This was entirely down to the poor packaging. I did get my money back and have still put this palette to use.

I was relectuant to order from the ebay seller again and went online to see if there was an alternative place I could purchase my z palettes from at an affordable price. I came across this website where the exact palettes were selling at £21.50 with free postage on orders over £50. I ordered three, which all came wrapped in lots of bubble wrap and all in one piece! I have since ordered a fourth palette from this website for my purple shades. 

Rectangular metalic stickers:

As the majority of my eyeshadows were from makeup Revolution and MUA cosmetic, they required the smaller stickers. I have ordered 2 x 30 rectangular sticker for £7.70 each from Ebay (a different seller). 

I love my new eyeshadow storage and will hopefully be using up some very neglected shades! (Sorry!) I'm pretty sure I'll think twice about buying eyeshadow palettes (especially from cheaper brands) as it really was an enormous game of jenga to fit these all in and I don't currently want to be adding to it! 

Please note I didn't depot all my eyeshadow palettes including my Naked Collection,  Electric Palette and Toofaced Chocolate Bar Palette as this would be a crime! And also my Flawless palette by Makeup Revolution as this is perfect for travelling. I think my z palettes are better off in my makeup collection at home.

Although these palettes are pricey, I definitely recommend these for MUA'S or those fellow Makeup Lovers who spend too much on eyeshadows!!

ELF Haul: 50% off Sale! Review & Swatches

Hi lovelies, hope everyone is well and enjoying their weekend. Today I'm going to share with you a 50% off ELF Haul. Mechanical Eyelash Curler £1.95

I was in need of a new curler as my Eylure curler had broken on me last week. The curlers feel very stiff and don't actually feel like they are working very well! I wouldn't recommend this one, but instead would suggest you spend a little bit more to get a better quality curler... I'll be on the lookout for a replacement. 

Travel Mirror £1.95

A perfect compact mirror for on the go. I normally just use my Mac Studio Fix Powder compact as a mirror, but felt it was time to get a mirror for those times when I forget to pack it in my handbag!  

Mascara Wands x12 £3.95

These are used by makeup artists to hygenically apply mascara on clients, however I find them perfect for brushing my eyebrows into shape and taming them! 

Pressed Powder (Caramel) £3.95

I was unsure about the shade of this powder but thought for under £2 I'd try it it and see whether it could be a cheaper alternative to my Mac Studio Fix Pressed Powder.

I was surprised to see the ELF powder was very pigmented, much more than Mac which is full coverage. Like Studio Fix, the ELF compact stores a powder puff under the product and this applies the powder really well. It does create a quite a bit of fall out (not great for on the go) but when applied with the puff it creates a beautifully even, full coverage base to your makeup. Although the colours do seem different, the ELF powder oxidises to create a similar shade to Mac (43.5) I really want to repurchase this! Definitely one to try for my full coverage girls. 

Pointed Foundation Brush £3.95

I purchased this as it's the perfect shape for applying contour to my cheeks for a more define look. However I wasn't very impressed as it was already shedding as I took it out of the packet....

Lash and Eyebrow Comb £3.95

Is it just me and my wild eyebrows or is this the brush that always seems to die on me?! I do actually prefer using the mascara wands over this tool though. 

Slant Tweezer £1.95

A great tweezer that grabs even the shortest of hairs.

Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Teal & Coffee ) £2.95

I was looking forward to these products the most and was excited to see the colour and quality.

Although the teal looks a dark blue it is infact a light blue. Since these swatches I have worn both eyeliners and am really impressed with the ease in which they apply. In the swatch below the teal shade was very dry, however when using it, it had restored it's inkiness! The eyeliners have a thin tip which is perfect for precision. It does feel like using a felt tip (especially the teal shade!). I love the coffee shade and will use instead of a black liner for more subtle looks. The eyeliners are definitely not waterproof! I have very watery eyes and most of my 'wing' was gone by the end of the night! 

Lip Stain (Red Carpet) £3.95

I wore this recently and it is a great orange based red. It applies to the lips smoothly and creates a very matte/dry look to the lips. When the gloss is applied (this did actually stain the gloss wand even though I had waited about 10 minutes before applying it, which shows it isn't such a great stain!) it creates a wet glossy shine. Over the course of 5 hours, after eating, drinking and talking, the stain had almost completely disappeared (without any reapplication). This is a much better product for shorter periods of time if you don't want to reapply.

Studio Blush Palette Dark (left) & Light (right) £7.95

These are blusher quads that I've had my eye on for a while and was pleased to see they were available for me to purchase! Each quad comes with three matte shades and a single glitter blush. The compacts have a full sized mirror and I was amazed to discover you can pop out each blush, which means you could customise your own pallette if you had both, which would be perfect for travelling! The light pallette has shades that woukd work perfectly with darker skin tones. Favourite purchase by far!

Look Fantastic Beauty Box

Hello lovelies, I wanted to share with you a new beauty box I have tried. The Look Fantastic box costs £15 and you can purchase one off boxes. Similarly to Glossybox, the box has surprise goodies so you don't actually get to see the products before you purchase. The products inside are worth £71.48 and I received the following items:

Lord and Berry Eyeliner: This eyeliner is creamy and pigmented, although there is the possibility of smudging because of this!

Swatches: 

Fat Girl Slim reduces the appearance of cellulite. It is a very liquidy consistency which surprised me as I thought it would be more of a cream or lotion. I have yet to try it out.

Nudestix: A gold eyeshadow pencil which can be blended to create an eyeshadow base or applied to the waterline or on the eyes for intense colour.

Swatches:

WetBrush: This brush is designed to work on wet or dry hair. It has thin, bendy bristles that are widely spread out to allow you to gently untangle your hair. I do love this product and and works as it states. It also comes in a handy size for travelling.   

NUXE: This anti aging face cream was an additional product as it isn't included in the product pamphlet. It's great to get a freebie!

Cowshed Lippy Cow: I do love the name of this company and product! It doesn't have a sticky feeling when applied to the lips and is translucent. It had a slanted top to make application easier and product is dispensed by squeezing the tube. 

Overall I am extremely pleased with my box. I'm not sure whether I would purchase it again as there are other beauty boxes out there for me still to try! If you love the element of surprise but don't want to be weighed down with a subscription, this is definitely the box to try. I didn't have to carry out a questionnaire about myself so the products aren't chosen individually for you; so I assume this is a generic box for everyone.
