Makeup Revolution

I've been meaning to test out the Makeup  Revolution range,  but wanted to wait until I visited Superdrug to see the products in the 'flesh' before I purchased them,  instead of ordering online.

As it happened,  I was in luck as Superdrug are currently doing their 3 for 2 offer on all their makeup. I do love a bargain!
In the end I went for two of their largest eyeshadow palettes (they only had these two palettes in this style) and one blusher palette. The first of the eyeshadow palettes that caught my eye was the Flawless 32 eyeshadow palette. The colours are neutral browns,  golds and metallics,  similar to those from the Urban Decay Naked palettes,  but just a fraction of the price at £8. I would definitely recommend this for Asian skin tones.

Swatches from last row.  Pure Chocolate to Night.
Swatches from second row. Almost there to Blue Stars.
The second palette I picked up was Eyes Like Angels Palette. This palette has metallic tones as well as much brighter colours. There are a few mattes,  but most shadows have a hint of shimmer to them. This palette was also £8.

Swatches of the top row.  Black Stars to Peacock Dream.
Swatches of the last row. Green Envy to Silver Dream.
As you can see all these shadows have great pigmentation and for the price,  you get a lot! The odd eyeshadows are powdery but that's common with cheaper palettes like this.  I would definitely recommend these palettes.  I may have to purchase some of the others!

For my final and free product I went for the Sugar and Spice Blusher palette which contains 8 Blushers,  two of which are baked Blushers.  This palette only cost £6, which would be the average cost of just one blusher!

The bottom four Blushers work perfectly with my skin tone. One of the Blushers was very powdery and one is too shimmery and light to work as a blusher for me, but may work well as a highlighter.

Overall these 3 products cost me £16, and for that I got, 64 eyeshadows and 8 Blushers!
Hope this helps!

Bye lovelies, until next time. Stay happy, healthy and appreciative of life :) xxx

Bargain Brushes!

I've been wanting to get kabuki style brushes for a while but I could never bring myself to spend ridiculous amounts for just single brushes, especially when I believe that it's not be necessarily about the tools you use but the techniques you know.

Sigma are well known for making a range  of kabuki style brushes, but as you can see, they are very pricey!

Sigma Kabuki Kit: $84 (£49.95)

Sigma Precision 5 Brushes: $72 (£42.82)

I bought the above 10 piece brush set from eBay after seeing it being posted on Instagram for only £10.99 with free p&p. In the set you get 10 kabuki style brushes, extremely similar to the two Sigma brush sets above, but for just a fraction of the price. I am in love with these brushes!! They are such great quality and look very long lasting. I have already swapped out some of my RealTechniques brushes for these instead in my every day makeup routine! I would definitely recommmend snapping these up!

There are many similar brush sets like this on eBay but many are based in China and Hong Kong, so delivery can take up to about 3 weeks. Me, being very impatient, decided to go with a slighter pricier set that was located in England, which would mean I receive it quicker!
My brushes arrived in a dust bag and the larger brushes had covers.

Just Another ELF Haul!

So here we are again... Someone has spent more money on ELF goodies *hides face* But it's not all bad, because it was another 50% off sale!! And to top it off, ELF were giving away 2 free gifts with any order. :D
My products came to a total of £18.85 including p&p and I received 12 products for that amazing price.

Some of my products were repurchases because they are part of my everyday makeup routine and I was running low on them so the sale couldn't have come at a more perfect time!

Repurchase:
Eyebrow kit in dark (Originally £3.95): I've also got Benefit's Browzing which retails at £23.50 and I can honestly say that I prefer this which is just a fraction of the price! This product comes with a gel which is applied first to the brows and a powder which sets the colour in place. The brush isn't very useful and I don't even bother keeping it! Instead I apply this product with my Real Techniques Accent Brush. There are a range of colours to choose from and I use the shade 'Dark' which is perfect if you have black hair. Definitely a must have product girls!

Repurchase:
Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara (Originally £1.95): To set my brows in place after filling them in I use this cheap and cheerful product. Be warned the product will change colour if you use it after a gel/ powder or pencil, but it still continues to do its job. When the brow gel runs out I simply use the mascara end instead as they have a similar formula, so the product ends up lasting me a very long time.

New Product:
Translucent Matte Powder (Originally £3.95): This powder feels soft to touch and is perfect for setting your liquid foundation and concealer. I personally prefer a full coverage look so I use my MAC studio fix liquid foundation along with my studio fix powder to create more coverage and to keep my foundation in place all day. However this product will be great for setting my under eye concealer to give me a lighter, dewy, bright eyed look.

New Product:
Studio Makeup Lock and Seal (Originally £3.95): I've been wanting to get my hands on this for a long time but it's always been out of stock! When the product arrived I noticed it had leaked a little during delivery, but luckily my bottle hadn't been damaged!
This is a swatch of the mineral eyeshadow in Royal. The top swatch is using the lock and seal and the bottom without. You can see that when using the lock and seal, the eyeshadow is more pigmented and has a glossier sheen. It was also very hard to take off even when using a baby wipe which means it would last all day... Or night!

Repurchase/ New Product:
Powder Brush(Originally £3.95): I bought this brush after seeing numerous YouTube Beauty Gurus raving about it and it served me well as a great brush for applying my liquid foundation with for an extremely long time. However, the bristles started to shed and I had to sadly say goodbye, so I was glad to be able to pick up a replacement.
Small Stipple Brush(Originally £3.95): This brush will be perfect applying concealer on those target areas and blending out into your foundation.

New Product:
Liquid Eyeliner in the colour Black (Originally £1.95): This isn't the greatest eye liners. It has a long thin brush which can be great, but the formula of the eye liner is very wet and doesn't give you a clear, solid line. It also takes a long time to dry and is susceptible to printing on your eyelid. I would keep away from this girls! There are eyeliners which are just as good for similar prices.

New Product:
Mineral Lip Liner in the colour Rose (Originally £3.95): A gorgeous nude/pink colour. I have yet to try this product to test whether it is long lasting but it has a creamy matte texture which looks like it will be perfect so your lipstick can adhere to it.

New Product:
Slant Tweezer (Originally £1.95): Is it me or do all tweezers just disappear?! I normally use Superdrug tweezers but thought I would try these as they would only be £1. I was pleasantly surprised as they work extremely well and pick up even the shortest hairs

New Product:
Nail Polish Matte Finisher (Originally £2.50): I tried this on my sister yesterday and it works!! It turns any nailpolish in a matte polish. I would definitely pick this up to turn those unloved polishes into something more on trend.

Free Gifts:
New Product:
Mineral Eye Shadow in the colour Royal (Originally £3.00): (Swatch above) This is my first mineral eyeshadow, I tend to keep away from lose powders only because of the mess! But this a gorgeous deep purple which I can see myself using regularly alongside the lock and seal.

New Product:
I've not tried this lipgloss because I'm not  much of a lipgloss wearer and I will probably give this away to a friend.

I really enjoyed browsing the ELF website to see which products I could pick up, however there are still many products that I would love to experiment with, so there may be another ELF haul in the future, so watch out!!

Don't worry if you missed out on the 50% off because ELF are currently giving away a mystery collection worth £20 when you spend atleast £20!!

What ELF products are your favourite?

March GlossyBox First Impressions

Hi ladies, it's another month, which means it's another Glossybox! My box was actually meant to be delivered last Tuesday, but I was at work and Mother was cooking in the kitchen with the doors closed so as not to set off the fire alarm and didn't hear the doorbell! Today has been the earliest chance that I have had to go and pick it up! I've been waiting eagerly for a whole week, spying on Instagram at the boxes others have received and wondering which goodies I have waiting for me!
My Glossybox arrived in its usual package and in the new style 'glossy box.'
I received a Glossybox magazine and a product information card. I also received a card to remind me that this was my last box as my subscription had run out.

I wasn't too impressed with the colour and would've preferred a red tone.

What did you get in your Glossybox?
Which product would you be excited to receive?

Glamour Beauty Box

Hi ladies :)
I wanted to tell you about the latest beauty box that I've purchased.
The Glamour Beauty Box is a box similar to the subscription boxes such as Glossybox, however there are 7 products (instead of 5) and you do not need to sign up for a monthly subscription, instead you know which products are inside and can make the decision to purchase it based on that. The box costs £14.95, including p&p but has products that retail over £45! Glamour does a range of these boxes, so you can choose the type you want.
This is the second Beauty Box I have purchased. The first one was a couple of months ago and I was pleased with the products in that box. My previous box had gold detailing and currently stores my old diaries!
This month there is a special offer, where you can grab yourself a free Stila Lip Glaze with your box to celebrate Mothers Day.
The box provides an information card about all the products and some voucher codes to get money off some of the brands included (Similar to Glossybox). The packaging is also very similar to Glossybox.
Invisibobble: This is a new type of hair bobble which claims to leave your hair kink-free. The product reminds me of a slinky and that makes me think of tangled slinkies and that makes me horrified at the thought of getting my hair stuck in it! However, I have tried the hair bobble and even twisted it around to secure my hair like a regular hair band and it does do it's job in keeping my hair up. Although I can't say it is definitely kink-free as my hair is naturally curly and I couldn't tell. It's a nice idea, although I can't really see people making the switch from normal hair ties to these as they are quite garish!
Percy & Reed Abundantly Bouncy Volumising Mousse: I'm always put off when there's hair styling products in these types of boxes, as I know I can't get use out of it, however my little sister is never reluctant to take them off my hands! I do love the cuteness of the packaging though!

Rituals Zensation Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom Foaming Shower Gel Sensation: This foaming shower gel is a great product for a quick wash. It has a gorgeous scent and leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised. It's a perfect size for travelling too. Cheeky chat me up nail paint (colour- tongue n cheek): This is a new nail polish brand and the colour I received was a coral/red colour. I've tried the polish on and it's great colour for summer. The polish has quite a fat brush which is perfect for quick application although I'm not keen on the packaging as it looks cheap. Burt’s Bees Lip Balm: This lip balm is perfect for keeping your lips moisturised and protected from the ever changing British weather! I've got one of these in my makeup vanity as I always use it before applying my makeup to prep my lips for lipstick and definitely recommend it. I guess this one is going in my makeup bag for on the go!Daniel Sandler Long Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Aqua Velvet: When I swatched this eyeliner on my hand it was clear to see it was a creamy formula in a bright blue colour which is perfect for the Summer season approaching us. It'll be great for the waterline as it's waterproof but could also be used to create a statement cat eyeliner look. I can't wait to try it out! L’Oreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara: The main reason I purchased this box was because I wanted to try this mascara. I've heard great reviews on it and wanted to see what all the fuss was about!! The mascara retails in Superdrug for £7.99 by itself. I tried this mascara this morning and loved the result. It thickens, elongates and separates the lashes all at the same time! Definitely one of my favourite mascaras at the moment. :) Stila Lip Glaze (colour- kaleidoscope): This lip gloss will be great for turning a matte lipstick into a glossy finish. It has tiny gold glitters in which will help create a shine for those Summer days.

Overall I love the products in this box and am glad I purchased it. To purchase your own box, visit the Glamour website.

Bye lovelies, until next time. Stay happy, healthy and appreciative of life :) xxx
